Self- governing and independent voluntary associations should always replace hierarchical corporate authorities. This provides the affected interests with voices, hence promoting government through consent in the entire society, and not just in the state. Through such actions, the state complexity will be reduced and the ancient democratic representative mechanisms shall be able to function effectively.

Hence, through tracking family history, it can help one understand the variables that contributed to the present status in the society. However, this paper analyzes personal own family wealth story. It does so by responding to several questions that include if anyone in the previous generations inherited property, money or businesses. Also, if anyone used social networks to get jobs, secure loans or open businesses and finally the question of if the family took advantage of formal programs that would facilitate wealth/capital acquisition, like the Homestead Act or the GI Bill. The first question response is affirmative. My father inherited a house that he grew up in that had been bought by my grandfather Walter Fuller Senior in the year 1949 for $ 2,800 money that my grandfather saved working at a local grocery store. The 2 bed roomed house, approximately 900 square foot with 1 bathroom was on a half acre land that was located at Kingsport, which was the nearest industrial town from his rural areas of Snowflake, in Virginia. After my father inherited the house from my grandfather (Walter Sr.), he renovated the house and remodeled it to improve its status and condition as it was an old house. The house value at the time had deteriorated due to old age as it was an old house despite the renovations. My father later sold the house with an idea of getting a much better house that could cater for our growing and expanding family. The money that my parents received from selling the house they made a down payment of a new house that I was born in and made plans that would enable them to clear the outstanding balance and fully own the house. The family moved in the new house and before it was long my family experienced marital challenges and problems resulting in a divorce of my parents that made situations difficult for the family. The divorce prompted the family to sell the house at throw away money that amounted to the balance owed for the house and, hence, left the family without a house. The following years, the family lived in apartments as both parents focused on saving so that they could buy their own separate houses. My family history of property inheritance is, therefore, brief that was only experienced by my father who later on sold the property due to life challenges and, consequently, our wealth history arising from property inheritance is short and non-impactful in the present times. The family did not engage in businesses activity other than relying on employment to help them earn wages and sustain the family income. Other than employment, my grandparent, for instance, practiced subsistence farming at the time to help supplement his earning and help the family save money that could have been spent on food. It helped him save enough money that resulted in the acquisition of the first property (house).At the time, most of the populations in the rural areas used horses with ploughs and there were limited tractors and, hence, commercial farming was not prominent in the rural area at the time. Commercial farming could be taken as business at the time. Businesses and money inheritance in my family in the previous generations do not relate to my family personal wealth story. The second question response is negative. My family did not use social networks to get jobs, open businesses or secure jobs. Engaging in either of the three probably could have improved and increased my family wealth between and among the different generations. My grandfather (Walter Sr.) first job was in the military where he enrolled at the age of 30 years to help cater for his family. The military profession is a unique and dynamic job that requires selflessness. My grandfather was fit and passionately served his country as a patriot that did not require any social networks or connections to get enrolled in the military service. It required strict qualifications that included medical and physical tests that he confidently had and, thus, allowed him to get a chance in the military. The social networks, hence, have not helped our family secure loans and open business when my family wealth lineage is analyzed. In the environment that my father grew and was raised, including my father, there was no segregation of any kind as it is a rural set up with homogeneous characteristics and limited diversity. My grandfather only encountered segregation challenges when serving the military during the Second World War (WWII). My grandfather second job as a manager at a supermarket was also not influenced by social networks. His competency and aggressiveness that enabled him to confront life issues bravely as well as his veteran status gave him an upper hand in securing the jobs that he got. It is because of the respect and appreciation that many people have for veterans and the military experience that they bring alongside them in job setups such as discipline and honesty among others. Walter Sr. aggressiveness in the job market and daring adventure enabled him to move to Kingsport that was the nearest industrial town to look for better job opportunities where he got his third job at a local glass plant. He got his job by simply walking in the organization and applying for the available job opportunities. The veteran status that my grandfather had given him an advantage over other applicants due to the respect that veterans have in the society as well as employment law as in some parts of society that encourage organizations to prefer veterans and give them an upper hand in issues touching on employment. The social network concept, therefore, did not apply in our family lineage relating to employment and wealth history. There was nobody in Kingsport that my family knew other than it was the nearest city and, therefore, the family moved in to explore available opportunities including job opportunities. My father equally had no social networks that helped him secure a job, secure loans or open businesses. After graduating from high school in the year 1971, he got his first job as a bag boy in a local grocery store that paid him 40 cents an hour. He later worked at Quebecor Press where he rose in status to become a supervisor due to his efficiency in the work set up. The company moved to Mexico. My father transited to another company and started work at Eastman Chemical Company aged 53. He got the opportunity because of the past experience that he has been building and a positive reputation and recommendations he received from his previous employers. Due to his positive reputation, the company offered him an educational opportunity in a local community college where he got his associate’s degree in chemistry that allowed him to become a chemical operator trainer with the company. At the age of 64, he retired due to medical and health challenges where his doctors did not clear him to continue with work due to high blood pressure and stroke among other ailments common with seniors. My grandfather and father job history, therefore, show no social networks influence. Finally, the response to the question of whether the family took advantage of formal programs that would facilitate wealth and capital acquisition is negative. My grandfather is the only person that had the opportunity to take such offers because of his military background that offered GI Bill but he did not. HIs primary reason is that he joined the military because he saw it as a good opportunity to earn for his family. In conclusion, the presented factors contributed to the present status of my family in terms of wealth and capital acquisition. It helps one discover the wealth pathways and opportunities and challenges experienced by the family lineage that enables one understand the dynamics in the social structure experienced in the society presently. The families that took opportunities that presented themselves in the past such as investments, networking and government formal programs that were availed at the time have been directly and indirectly impacted by such actions that have determined and shaped the present wealth and capital inheritance pathways that such families experience. It also helps understand links between opportunities and social structure at the time and in the present.

To ensure success, Etisalat considers its corporate culture and human resources as its main driving force. The model that my team applied to Etisalat that led to the improvement of the team performance is job characteristic model. The model requires an organization to undertake job rotation to enable a business achieve its goals and vision. At Etisalat, we decided to implement this model because of the established correlation between job rotation and employee performance. In this case, we started with 100 employees and began the exercise of job rotation. We conducted job rotation as an exercise that involved the rotation or alternation of Etisalat’s employees periodically as a way of achieving different task objectives by changing roles. We considered the exercise as a facilitator of the learning process because it involved the training of the rotated employees on their new duties (Ajila & Awonusi, 2014). When the job alternation process sees the individual psychological behavior and perception, the workforce is shown to demonstrate high levels of performance as they put in effort. It is also important to note that the job rotation process that we initiated was a planned process, which was also integrated into Etisalat’s job training phase. As a team, we decided to pick 100 Etisalat employees from the telecommunications-engineering department. The selected individuals were then transferred from their posts and positions and taken to a new post. Thirty employees from the network management position were transferred to the network configuration position with a similar number of employees from the configuration department going to the network management field. Ten employees from the network engineering position were moved to the telecommunications equipment position with those from the telecommunications equipment position moving to the network engineering position. Thirty employees from the central office engineering position were moved to the outside plant engineering position with those from the outside plant engineering position moving to the central office engineering position. Thirty employees from the central office electrical engineering position were moved to the outside plant electrical engineering position with those from this position moving to the central office electrical engineering position. After a period of one month on their new positions, the employees participated in a correlation and exploratory research design. The intention was to collect data from the sampled 100 employees using a structured questionnaire. This research design investigated the correlation between two contemporary phenomena that exist in a real-life context. The phenomena investigated were employee behavior, attitude, and company productivity. A stratified random sampling technique was used in selecting the 100 employees that were used in job rotation. It is vital to note that employees were taken from eight departments that are related to the overall engineering department at Etisalat. Thus, the presence of a homogenous section at the company made it possible for us to take samples from the eight departments. We used survey questionnaires as tools for the collection of data in the areas of employee behavior and attitude while they were in their new positions. The objective of using a survey questionnaire was to increase the validity and clearness of the responses from the participants. Ideally, Etisalat comprises of systems that have components that can benefit other people in a symbiotic manner. The different constituents of the model applied to Etisalat are job rotation, employee performance, employee engagement, and the overall organizational success. After reviewing the existing literature on employee engagement, we found that there is a connection between job rotation and organization and employee performance. Therefore, for an overall performance and quality, the success of an organization requires all the elements to be enhanced. Application of the model showed that the constructive outcomes for Etisalat emerge through the significant contributions of the different parts of the structure. This is what makes the business of Etisalat greater than the sum of all its parts. During the application of the model, we understood employee engagement as the level, which employees willingly put in effort to their tasks and assignments to guarantee Etisalat’s success (Aguinis, 2015). Additionally, we understood that job rotation outcomes such as employee satisfaction, commitment, morals, communication, and development are dependent on the readiness of employees for engagement. Therefore, the transfer of employees from one position or section within Etisalat enables them to increase their capabilities and knowledge in tackling tasks. Increase in their efficiency has the potential to spur employee performance, which influences Etisalat’s general productivity. According to the theory of human relations, participatory engagement adopted by a company’s management has the potential to satisfy the ego of employees. As a result, they exert emotional, cognitive, and physical energies in addition to becoming more cooperative to ensure success in the company’s productivity. At Etisalat, we adopted this model based on the recognition that employee involvement is related to development, satisfaction, performance, and productivity. One of the findings related to the benefits of the team and company is that job rotation increased the engagement of the rotated employees. We observed that employees became more engaged in their work, which was evident through their willingness to devote extra effort and time. The rotated employees considered the new responsibilities as part of their own responsibility. Base on their responses in the questionnaire, the employees noted that they were more empowered as they moved from one specialized task to another (Zareen, Razzaq & Mujtaba, 2013). Because they owned the process required in the completion of the specialized task, they formulated their goals, which aligned to Etisalat’s goals. The second finding is that the transfer of an employee from a specialized occupation unit, which was associated with their desires helped in promoting the occurrence of outcomes, which was unusual for Etisalat. Thus, when they are satisfied with their occupation, they became more loyal to Etisalat as their stress levels reduced. Engaged employees became more invested for Etisalat and showed a willingness to remain with the company. Unlike employee engagement, employee disengagement occurs when the transfer of employees does not consider their interests. Out of the 100 employees that we used to implement the job rotation model, we observed that 20 of the employees exhibited disengagement. We observed that these employees were psychologically stressed, remained absent for some time during the application of the model, and they were highly demotivated. In the absence of job rotation, we noticed that there was a high level of demotivated and dissatisfied employees. In the current business environment, we could not afford to have dissatisfied and demotivated employees. With dissatisfied and demotivated employees, Etisalat was at risk of having low levels of creativity, which is not sustainable in Etisalat’s industry. Additionally, the presence of these employees in the company meant that Etisalat could not transform crucial processes, which involved huge financial costs. The retention of non-performing and non-productive employees limits the survival of Etisalat. We applied the job rotation model based on three elements of the model that must be considered during job rotation. The elements are workforce attitude, capabilities, and behaviors, which must be considered to motivate and involve the employees. Findings from these elements indicate that when the rotated employees are satisfied, there performance increase and Etisalat increases productivity. From these findings, job rotation has an impact on the performance of employees (Newstrom, 2014). Despite the increased performance, it is vital to note that performance levels are dependent on the characteristics of workers, which means that worker characteristics must be considered during planning of job rotation. Even though organizational and employee performance are based on job rotation, it is vital to note that there is an intermediate variable that influences performance. This is evident when workers are assigned to similar responsibilities and task, but the results are different. These changes and differences are promoted by an intermediate variable, which influences the association between the independent and dependent variables. Introduction of this variable identifies how employees think about job rotation. Previous studies suggested that organizational leaders assumed that rewards and salaries motivated employees. This implied that rewards and salaries were considered as important organizational production facilitators. However, at Etisalat, we realized that job rotation that has been designed according to the mindset of the workforce and deeds can achieve optimum company productivity and employee performance. During the application of job rotation, we were guided by six guidelines. The first guideline is commitment by Etisalat to include employees and departments, which was informed by what was expected of the employees and the benefits that they could derive from participating in the job rotation exercise. The second guideline was operational management, which involved the manager taking into consideration the human resources element. Thirdly, job rotation was applied as part of the learning process. The fourth guideline is that job alternation must consider professional accountability. Therefore, the selected employees must adhere to Etisalat’s professional measures and standards (Newstrom, 2014). The fifth guideline is that job rotation must focus on quality and the operational safety. It must continue to satisfy the needs of Etisalat’s customers. The sixth guideline is that the evaluation of job rotation must consider the transfer of employees and should focus on measuring the performance of employees while they are in their original post and in their transferred position. During the application of the model, we integrated employee engagement strategies. We began by introducing and including employee engagement during the selection of the employees to participate in job rotation. We selected and oriented the employees on the company’s values, goals, and policies. This laid a strong foundation for them to participate in job rotation. The placement of the employees in their new positions considered their capabilities in engineering and the relatedness of their new position to their old positions. The objective was to reduce duty conflict, which arises during the execution of assigned duties. The rotation of jobs started from the top-level leadership, which dictated the direction of the job rotation. The top leadership at Etisalat established the workable procedures, values, and vision to be implemented by the team and employees. The strategy of two-way communication was used to promote clarity of issues that affect employee performance and Etisalat’s productivity. It is important to note that participative decision-making and communication are instrumental in giving employees a sense of belonging while also increasing engagement. We also encouraged job autonomy because we acknowledge the fact that by encouraging job autonomy, we could enhance opportunities for advancement and development, which lets employees select the ways they wish to perform their assigned tasks. Job rotation and employee engagement at Etisalat was made possible through the allocation of resources to encourage effective participation and performance (Amanda, Kerstin, Catherine & Emma, 2013).

However, this paper presents an experienced positive personal change in the life of educational success using the Lewin’s 3-step model guide. Lewin’s 3-step model is a practical and simple model used to implement change by individuals and organizations (groups). The steps involved include unfreezing, changing and lastly refreezing (Burke & Noumair, 2015). The positive personal change that affected me is the educational success. It occurred when I was in senior high school and I struggled to achieve my education goals and targets as I spend lesser time studying and revising for my academic work. I had poor time management skills and found less time to complete schoolwork and study promptly for exams and other academic work. All this was despite the academic talent potential that I had right from the primary school as was also asserted by my teachers and academic counselors. However, I decided to take a positive personal change that helped me realize educational success. The Unfreezing Step I had to create awareness how poor time management and poor studying skills impacted my academics negatively. The old behaviors and habits had made me lazy and have less time for academics where I spend more time socializing and playing with friends. I failed to balance my time and have a positive and balanced success in all aspects that I did and in particular channel enough time and resources to my academics, which was the most important and the priority issue at the time. My parents and teachers were also concerned with my falling standards in academics as they were sure that I had great a potential as proved through my primary school results and also junior high school results. I felt the change was necessary as I had started preparations for my final exams in advance. I feel the unfreezing step was fully completed and what I would do to improve the process in case I was to do it again is to consult the experts on the possible benefits and impacts that such changes would have in the short and long-term in my life to have a broader view. Changing Step I had to transit to the new state of being. I designed a personal timetable that guided me on what to do at a particular time where there was a balance between social time and study time. I also indicated the subjects that I would study and the particular days studied. In the initial period, I realized difficulties adapting to the new changes but I pressed on as I knew the goal and target that I had to achieve as recommended in Iveroth and Hallencreutz (2015) work. My friend was also concerned that I started spending less time with them but I had to tell them what I had planned and was doing so that they could support me and luckily enough they understood and also encouraged me. I also motivated and mentored most of them that we all created time for academics and studying including forming discussion groups where we shared and discussed on different subjects as a group that proved beneficial to all of us. I also had to rearrange my room and put a study table and re-organize it to help me achieve my goal with ease. I feel the changing step was fully completed and what I would do to improve the process in case I was to do it again is to involve my friends in designing the group discussion session. So that all could participate and plan their programs according to the initial agreements rather than where my plan determined their schedule that made others not actively participate as were engaged in other activities. Refreezing Step The new changes became the new order and status of addressing the academic concerns. They became part of my academic lifestyle and I reinforced them by limiting myself to the time that I would spend before completion of my assignments and homework. I stated that all assignments of the week shall be finished before the beginning of a new week and I also set an alarm clock and phone reminders on the set targets and goals as well as the schedule for academic work so that I would strictly adhere to the schedule. I feel the refreezing step was fully completed and what I would do to improve the process in case I was to do it again is to reward myself by doing something fun when I achieved all my set targets in the schedule to motivate me more. Africa also has contributed to the immigrant's numbers in Germany where in the year 2016 around 740000 migrants were having an African origin. A figure that rose by over 46 percent when compared to data captured in the year 2011 (Reuters, par. 5). Other European countries have also contributed to the immigrants recorded in Germany noted in the first and second generation immigrants. The main reasons stated as the primary cause of the refugees includes fleeing war and poverty in the middle-East and Africa respectively (Kühn, 1747). The history of Germany immigration continues to change and the impacts that the subject of immigration has to its citizens and region at large. Presently, one in every five German citizens has an immigration background mostly linked with the second and third generation immigrants. Why immigrants go to Germany The middle-east region has witnessed the worst instability in the present times where for over a decade of conflict and war at both internal and external levels have compelled people to move. And seek safety and protection from the adverse effects of conflict and war such as destruction of property and life. Syria, for instance, has witnessed internal conflict and wars that have lasted for over a decade long. The conflict in the middle-east more often have been connected to religion and in particular the different sects in the regions. Such conflicts spread so quickly to other countries and in the end the entire region experiences conflict and violence regarding retaliatory attacks and revenge. It is imperative to note that religion, in particular, plays an important role in Middle-East politics, economics, and social aspects. Terrorism also has contributed to the fleeing of people in the Middle-East region. In particular, in the recent years that the issue of ISIS was dominant in the region and particular Iraq and Syria that the ISIS terrorists organization and group had dominated and captured a majority of the territory in the mentioned countries. It compelled people to flee for safety as they practiced crimes against humanity where they forced people to subscribe to the terrorist organization ideologies or face death sentence among other issues such as forced marriage to militants and combatant of the group. Many refugees in Germany from the Middle-East have gone to Germany to seek refugee and asylum so that they get safety from such harsh conflict zones and terrorist group that threatened their democratic rights and space (DW.com, par 3). Many immigrants from Africa, however, flee from poverty to seek economic opportunities that can help them change their lives. However, a good number of immigrants from north-West Africa also run for safety and flee the conflicts that were realized in Libya after two conflicting sides struggled for power and control of the country after the toppling of Mohammad Gadaffi. Germany has had favorable policies and opportunities in the economic field where a majority of its populations are aged and, thus, created opportunities in the economy concerning jobs. Most of the jobs considered as low-income jobs that require unskilled labor, thus, have been filed by the immigrant population. The amount that immigrants receive from such jobs when compared to the opportunities back at home in their origin countries differ and it can sustain them as well as help their families back home where the immigrant population remit back the amount earned back in their country. Such opportunities in the economic sector have, as a result, attracted the influx of immigrants in Germany where more often they flee from poverty and lack of opportunities in Africa. Germany Programs to Help the Immigrants The Germany government has taken a different approach from other European countries and the United States relating to the immigration situation in their countries in the recent times that the crisis has reached critical levels (Elrick and Winter,24). In the beginning, it was difficult not only for Germany but also other European countries and European Union at large that was compelled to call for immediate meetings and discussion to talk about the crisis that had affected the region relating to immigration. However, with time they have tried to address the immigration crisis positively by launching programs that can help the immigrants to positively integrate into the society and help them meet the basics of life and needs as stipulated in the international conventions that try to help the immigrants (Carens 4). Germany launched a housing project for the immigrants. Initially, the government provides them with temporary shelter in gymnasium across the country and regions of Germany. However, they launched alternative and cheap housing projects where they constructed container villages that housed the immigrants providing them with more privacy and space that they could help them easily integrate and improve their health conditions (Spiegel.de, par. 7). Moreover, the Germany government has launched programs that try to help the refugees integrate into German society such as language programs. They have launched initiatives across the country that mobilize for volunteer teachers and other language programs that help the immigrants learn the German language for easy integration into the society (Humanium.Org, par. 6). Also, those with high skills and competencies that have attained proficiency in the German language are considered for work opportunities when available. Finally, the Germany government has launched schooling programs in the immigrant's communities that help them get the basic rights of education even when in such critical situation that has seen the immigrants displaced thousands of kilometers away from their parent countries. The latest move that the Germany government has made regarding the immigration crisis is to initiate the repatriation of the immigrants back to their homes. This initiative was taken after a return of peace and tranquility in most parts in the Middle- East and in particular Syria where the warring sides have initiated actions to end the war and change the approaches that they use to enhance their political objectives that include the formation of coalitions and initiate dialogue and talks across the political divide. The defeat of ISIS also in the region has made some of the immigrants to consider the option of going back home to their parent countries. The Germany government, thus, has launched voluntary return programs and provides initiatives that help such projects. For example, they have launched financial initiatives for those going back home voluntarily that help them cover for rent and resettlement. Individual immigrants returning voluntarily get €1,000 and families up to €3,000 (£2,650; $3,540). The logic behind such a move is that they view the issue from the economic terms where they argue and state that it is cheaper to help them return than to house and maintain them in the immigration camps. What German Citizens Think About the Immigration Problem and Their Solutions Germans have expressed diverse opinions and reactions to the subject of immigration. The debate has divided the country right in the middle not only among the politicians but also other parts of the society. The differences expressed also have been linked with the different age groups that exist in Germany where senior citizens and youth ideas and views about immigration have differed at times. However, the immigration crisis has equally affected France, and the situation has worsened in the present times (McPartland, par 4). France has a rich history in issues of immigration bearing in mind the policies that have guided the country throughout its history of assimilation policy. It used during the colonial days where it allowed and gave opportunities to members in their colonies to become part of the France citizens as well as benefit from projects and programs that the country had (Pan Ké Shon and Verdugo ,824). Most of the immigrants that flock to France in the recent times according to 2018 data come from Syria Arab Republic, Iraq, Tunisia, Eritrea, Afghanistan, Guinea and Cote d’ Ivoire. The Mediterranean Sea has been the major route where immigrants in recent times have used to reach Europe and in particular Italy where they move to other countries such as France in the European Union. The EU has also encouraged member country to take action and responsibility in addressing the immigration crisis where they advocate for shared responsibilities including distribution of immigrant’s population to member countries. Thousands of immigrants have also have lost their lives when the vessels that they use to reach Europe capsizes in the Mediterranean Sea. The harsh economic condition and poverty that has dominated the countries have compelled them to look for new opportunities elsewhere and, therefore, it has raised their desire to seek an adventure in the dangerous path and territories in the Mediterranean areas to reach France and other destination not only in Europe but also in North America (Reuters, par. 2). The limited opportunities in their countries economically, as well as the political crisis in some countries such as conflicts and political oppression, have also contributed to the immigrant's crisis in France driving and pushing them to take such daring steps and moves in life. France also changed its assimilation and immigration policies by the introduction of a stricter approach and metrics that members of its former colonies use to seek for visa, asylum, and opportunities in the country. Such moves have limited the option that people from their former colonies can use to reach France as many feel they have connections and members of their close families and relatives in those countries (Beaman, 27).
